7th September
Morning: Presentations
Afternoon ; Field trip.
Visit to Zelazowa Wola, Chopin’s Birthplace and childhood home for a private concert. This will be followed by a trip to nearby Lowicz to visit the archaeological field base for the local motorway excavation programme. The trip will conclude in the evening with a Polish Barbeque and entertainment in the ruins of the nearby 16th Century castle.
8th September
Presentations to 4pm .
4pm Ethnographic film presentation.
9th – 11th : Post conference field excursion. (200 Euros to be paid on registration).
This trip is an optional extra and is not included in the conference registration fee.
An optional post-conference field trip will be offered 9th – 11th September providing a minimum of 10 people sign up. Maximum number of people is 20 so if you wish to attend please book early.
Leave Lodz on the 9th September:
Visit to Polish flint mines at Krzemionki (http://www.krzemionki.pl). Arrive Krakow (www.krakow.pl.en). Evening meal in typical Krakow restaurant.
10th September. Guided tour around the Medieval City of Krakow and visit to the e archaeological Museum. Evening meal in typical Krakow restaurant.
11th September. Leave Krakow and visit Palaeolithic cave sites (www.ojcow.pl/english/caves.htm). Arrive Lodz evening of the 11th. End of trip.
Additional nights in the university hotel in Lodz can be arranged as required.
