Dear Members of the World Archaeological Congress,

As Returning Officer for the 2025 WAC Executive elections, I wish to inform you that the formal Call for Expressions of Interest to stand for Executive Officer positions has now closed, as previously announced in the original call.

We have received nominations for the positions of President, Vice-President, and Treasurer. However, no nominations have been received for the position of Secretary.

In accordance with Article 8 of the WAC Statutes, the Secretary is a vital officer of WAC, responsible for the principal executive and secretarial functions of the organisation. The role requires commitment to WAC’s values, strong organisational and communication skills, and experience within WAC’s structure. The full role description can be found in the original Call for Expressions of Interest.

In order to ensure that the position of Secretary can be filled during the WAC-10 Assembly, I am now issuing this Supplementary Call for Expressions of Interest for the position of Secretary only.

WAC members interested in standing for this position are invited to submit:

  • A statement of intentions (maximum 500 words)
  • A short CV
  • Your WAC membership number

Please send these documents to:
Professor Koji Mizoguchi
President & Returning Officer, WAC
mizog@scs.kyushu-u.ac.jp

If you cannot remember your number, please contact

WAC Membership Secretary

maria.ortiz@flinders.edu.au

Deadline: 12:00 noon GMT / 21:30 Darwin time, Saturday 21 June 2025 — to allow sufficient time for confirmation and preparation prior to the Assembly.

Thank you for your continuing engagement and support of WAC.

With kind regards,

Koji Mizoguchi
President & Returning Officer
