On behalf of the Organising Committee of the 10th World Archaeological Congress it is a great pleasure to invite colleagues from across the globe to come to Australia from the 22nd to the 27th of June 2025, inclusive. This has been re-scheduled from June 2024 to allow more time to obtain sponsorship. We anticipate supporting around 400 Indigenous peoples and people from low-income countries.
This is the first time that the World Archaeological Congress will be held Australia. WAC-10 will be hosted by Flinders University, which has campuses across South Australia and the Northern Territory. A cultural program will run parallel to the academic program to showcase the diversity and richness of Indigenous Australian cultures. WAC-10 will support the attendance of Indigenous peoples, students, and archaeologists from economically disadvantaged countries.
The WAC-10 website will be launched on 1 February 2024. A formal call for WAC-10 themes and sessions will be made early in 2024. We look forward to welcoming you to Australia in June 2025.
