








My name is Neha Singh. I completed my U.G. and P.G. from Banaras Hindu University. I am doing my fourth year of PH.D. from the A.I.H.C. & Archaeology department of Banaras Hindu University. I am qualified for UGC NET and JRF from the ICHR (INDIAN COUNCIL OF HISTORICAL RESEARCH).
Currently, I am working on the transformation of the culture from lower to middle paleolithic with special reference to the Middle Son Valley, India. I am doing the field training under The MASA Project (Cambridge and Banaras Hindu University) of Nindaur, India. I participated in a QGIS workshop at IIT Gandhi Nagar, India. And also attending many national and international workshops.
I have done OSL sampling in the PRL lab, Ahmadabad (Physics Research Laboratory). I presented my presentation at the In-Bix-ADNAT2024 International conference. I am collaborating with ththee Neurosciences Department to understand the hominin brain in the transition period (lower to middle paleolithic) and have published our paper (From Stone Tools to Society: How Prefrontal Cortex Evolution Refined Hominin Stone Tool Making Technique and Social Behaviour). I am exploring prehistoric sites in the Middle Son Valley. and also visit some prehistoric places in India like: Sanchi, Bhimbetka, Adamgirpur, Agiyabir, Mahavan, Nakhjarkhurd, Patpara, Baghor, etc.
My primary research interests include archaeology, neuro-archaeology, with a particular focus on the tools’ technology, QGIS in Archaeology, and microscopic use wear analysis. For me, ‘‘Archaeology is an attempt to understand about humans in the past by looking at the things they used.
