Our contribution to the 2015 Day of Archaeology

The Day of Archaeology (DOA) is a fantastic online project that aims to provide a window into the daily lives of archaeologists from around the world. As the organisers explain this is a free project run by volunteers and which ‘relies on goodwill and a passion for public engagement!’ After five years the tremendous value of this project as a resource has become clear and the thousands of blog posts contributed represent some of the wonderful diversity that we cherish and hope to support in the WACSC. As such we’ve been happy as a committee to take part in the last two DOA blogging carnivals (in addition to our members’ individual contributions)!
This year we decided to create a more visual (rather than text) based post and collated images from six contributing committee members to create a ‘snapshot’ of our day. Our main aim was to highlight the diversity of this committee and more generally the work of archaeology students. You can view our post here: WACSC Visual Snapshot.
