WAC-8 has officially started. Over the the next week thousands of archaeologists from around 90 countries will present their work, learn, make new friendships and renew old ones. To start off the conference the President of WAC, Koji Mizoguchi, delivered this address:

For making it possible for some of us to be here in Japan, and for the first time in that matter, and to witness WAC continuing its traditions for promoting global cultural dialogue, we are eternally grateful. This speech was short and sweet!
