We are pleased to announce that the 5th Italian Conference on Ethnoarchaeology will be held in Rome at the IsIAO – Istituto per l’Africa e l’Oriente, Rome, from the 13th to the 14th may 2010. This is the first time that the conference of Italian Association of Ethnoarchaeology (AIE, Associazione Italiana di Etnoarcheologia) is open to non Italian contributors.

The subject will be: “Ethnoarchaeology as Field Research”.

Dead line for papers: 28/02/ 2010.

Sessions:

– landscape ethnoarchaeology: human-environment interactions and dynamics of choice
– ethnoarchaeology and material culture: use, function, interaction with the environment, social implications, and cognitive patterns
– ethnoarchaeology of rituals
– ethnoarchaeology of urban contexts
– remote sensing and automatic recognition techniques of the archaeological record
– ethnoarchaeology of pastoralism

An abstract of about 300 words is required, so as to fill the participation form.

The fees are 60 ¤ per author (also if the paper has more than one author). Student fee is 30.

Payment until 30/03/2010.
