We realise that the publication of this issue has been delayed somewhat. This is partly the exigencies of a Special Issue.  We sincerely look forward to overcoming this delay from the April 2012 issue. Now that the issue is finally complete, we are sure you will appreciate the contents. Your comments and suggestions are always valuable to us.  Do feel free to share your thoughts and ideas with the editorial team.

This is a Special Issue on ‘Gender and Development’ in the context of the Global South. The issues raised and discussed in the pages of the ezine are diverse, in terms of their geographical spread and the area of focus. The articles are a mix of both historical and contemporary studies. Taking into account the last issue, the ezine has seen two consecutive Special Issues. The remaining three issues in this year will be general.
